VirtualHostX Now Supports Custom Apache Directives

Wednesday, July 30th, 2008

The latest version of VirtualHostX (1.1.0) now supports adding custom Apache directives to your virtual hosts. This was a feature I had been planning on releasing with version 2.0 but decided to add a simple implementation after so many users requested it.

As always, please send in your feedback and report any bugs you find. You can email me directly or use the built-in feedback option from the VirtualHostX menu.

2008 A List Apart Web Developer Survey

Tuesday, July 29th, 2008

Just a quick reminder that the annual A List Apart survey is online. Web developers are a disparate bunch — statistics like these are a valuable resource. Make sure you take a few minutes and send in your answers.

WordPress for iPhone

Monday, July 21st, 2008

While most of the applications in the App Store are rubbish, Automattic’s new WordPress client is one of the best I’ve seen. In particular, notice how the post detail fields scroll up and out of the way when you edit the body text. Bonus points for using a British accent in the screencast.

VirtualHostX 1.0.11 Released

Thursday, July 3rd, 2008

I released VirtualHostX 1.0.11 this afternoon. In addition to fixing a bug where the DocumentRoot wasn’t being remembered, this release is the first to include OpenFeedback — an open source Cocoa framework I published last month. This allows users to submit feedback (bug reports, feature requests, support questions) from inside VirtualHostX. It’s much easier than visiting a website or composing an email. Just select “Send Feedback” from the main menu and OpenFeedback takes care of the rest. Here’s a screenshot.
